Stabilise before automating
An ambiguous process does not become reliable through automation. Clarify inputs, decision rules and exceptions. Start with a bounded repetitive task whose result can be checked.
Keep a human in control
Assign an owner, an approval path and a way to stop the workflow. Unusual cases should reach a person rather than disappear into an invisible queue.
Measure the full cost
Compare time savings with licences, maintenance and incidents. Document access and dependencies. Successful automation remains understandable to the organisation using it.
